Matthew & Laura were married at the fantastic Hotel Van Dyk on Saturday the 15th of March 2014.

Matt & Laura’s reception had a couple of surprises in store for each of them.  Before the big day they had made full use of my personal online planner system to create their personal playlist of songs, as well as allowing their guests to make requests in advance too. As a part of this system Matt & Laura selected their all important 1st Dance to be ‘Aerosmith’ – ‘I Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing’. What Matt didn’t know, was that Laura had contacted me a couple of days before the wedding to ask if I could change the 1st Dance to a song that would be very special and mean a lot to Matt.

So, to the first dance… As usual at Hotel Van Dyk, once all the evening guests had arrived and everybody was settled nicely, we began the evening’s proceedings with the cutting of the Wedding Cake by Matthew & Laura, before announcing the happy couple onto the dancefloor for the first time as Mr & Mrs Wright. Matthew & Laura entered the dancefloor to applause and cheers from their friends & family as I began playing the surprise choice of 1st Dance ‘Always’ by ‘Bon Jovi’. Within seconds it was clear to see the happiness on Matthew’s face as he realised what Laura had done for him.

Halfway through the 1st Dance it was time for the second surprise as I used my dry-ice machine to create the Dancing on a Cloud special effect.  As the effect filled the dancefloor with a low laying whispy white cloud there were ‘oohs’ and ‘aahs’ from the friends and family watching on, then Laura looked down and saw the effect which instantly brought a huge smile to her face.  The clouds kept being generated throughout the whole of the first dance while everybody joined Matt & Laura on the dancefloor.

We immediately followed the 1st Dance with the Bride & Groom’s choice of ‘I’ve Gotta Feeling’ by ‘The Black Eyed Peas’ as the wedding party dance to get everybody up dancing, then we moved onto ‘Don’t Stop Me Now’ by ‘Queen’ which was requested in advance to be the third track. The evening progressed with a wide variety of music and genres incorporating the playlist submitted online by Matt & Laura, as well as requests taken throughout the evening. The final track of the night was chosen by Matt & Laura to be ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ by ‘Queen’
